Winner of famous international competitions, including the Queen Elizabeth International Piano Competition in Brussels (4th Prize), Tchaikovsky International Piano Competition in Moscow (3rd prize), Van Cliburn International Piano Competition (4th Prize ), pianist Johan Schmidt also won the Maria Callas International Piano Competition (1st Prize ) and the Japan International Piano Competition (1st Prize).

 

 

He appeared as soloist across the world with major orchestras as well as with Europe's best symphony orchestras. His reputation as a soloist has taken him to such prestigious venues as the Concertgebouw (Amsterdam), the Rachmaninov Concert Hall (Moscow) or the Osaka Symphony Hall (Japan), the Shauspielhaus of Berlin and the Gasteig (Munich) as well as in the USA, Middle-East and South-America.

 

His love for chamber music has led to regular appearances with world know violinist Yuzuko Horigome and the American String Quartet, among others. He also participated in various piano event such as Belgian’s Pianofolia with the top pianists of the country. He is also regularly scheduled on Radio programs.

 

Piano Professor at the Royal Music Conservatory of Mons (Belgium), Johan Schmidt made numerous recordings for EMI, Fontec, Gailly, EMS and Cyprès.

Johan Schmidt s’est fait une réputation internationale suite aux nombreux prix qu’il remporta dans le monde, dont le 4ième Prix du Concours International Reine Elisabeth de Belgique (Bruxelles), le 3ième Prix au Concours Tchaïkovski (Moscou), le 4ième Prix le Concours Von Cliburn (USA) et remporta le 1er Prix du Concours International Maria Callas (Athènes), de même que le 1er Prix du Concours International du Japon à Tokyo.

 

Sa carrière de soliste l’amené dans le monde entier, se produisant par ailleurs avec les orchestres d’Europe les plus réputés sous la direction de chefs de notoriété. Johan Schmidt dans des salles prestigieuses telles que le Concertgebouw d’Amsterdam, la Salle Rachmaninoff (Moscou) ou encore la Symphony Hall d’Osaka (Japan), le Shauspielhaus de Berlin et le Gasteig (Munich) ainsi qu’aux Etats-Unis, en Amérique du Sud et au Moyen-Orient. En musique de chambre, il s’est produit avec des artistes de réputations internationales tels que la violoniste Yuzuko Horigome ou l’American String Quartet. Il participe par ailleurs à des évènements divers comme les Pianofolias avec les pianistes les plus réputés de Belgique, et est aussi régulièrement présent sur les ondes de la radio.

 

Professeur au Conservatoire Royal de Musique de Mons (Belgique), Johan Schmidt a réalisé de nombreux enregistrements disponibles sous les labels EMI, Fontec, Gailly, EMS et Cyprès.

   Eyal Shiloach - violin

 

Born in Israel in 1963, Eyal Shiloach was only 13 when he was chosen to play at the opening ceremony of the Jerusalem Music Center together with world known violinist Isaac Stern. A year later, he won the First Prize of the competition for young soloists (Jerusalem). After studying the violin with Ilona Feher, Haïm Taub, he travelled to the USA to further his studies together with Michael Terry (from the Guarneri Quartet). Through all his studies, he was awarded scholarships from the America - Israeli Cultural Foundation.

 

Eyal Shiloach performed as soloist with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, the Jerusalem Symphony, the Israel Chamber Orchestra and participated at the Marlborough Festival.

 

 

He served as Concertmaster of the Tel-Aviv Symphony Orchestra and as Leading violinist of the London Symphony Orchestra. Eyal Shiloach recently appeared as soloist in important venues in some major European cities. He gives regularly recitals and is a regular guest in chamber music festivals in Israel and Europe having performed with world known artists. He became also active in the field of traditional jewish and middle-eastern music having just produced a CD of traditional melodies including his own compositions.

Né en Israël en 1963, Eyal Shiloach n’avait encore que 13 ans lorsqu’il fut choisi pour se produire au Jérusalem Music Center en compagnie du célèbre violoniste Isaac Stern. Une année plus tard, il remporta ensuite le 1er Prix du Concours pour Jeunes Solistes à Jérusalem. Après avoir étudié avec Ilona Feher et Haïm Taub, Eyal Shiloach se perfectionna aux USA avec Michael Terry (du Guarneri Quartet). Il est également Lauréat de la American - Israeli Cultural Foundation,

 

Eyal Shiloach s’est produit en soliste avec l’Orchestre Philharmonique d’Israël, l’Orchestre Symphonique de Jérusalem, l’Orchestre de Chambre d’Israël et participa entre autre au Marlborough Festival (USA). Il fut également Concertmaster de l’Orchestre Symphonique de Tel-Aviv et a été co-leader de l’Orchestre Symphonique de Londres. Très actif comme chambriste, il a fait équipe avec les principaux musiciens d’Israël ainsi qu’avec des artistes de réputation internationale.

 

Eyal Shiloach est régulièrement à l’affiche de Festivals Internationaux en Israël et en Europe que ce soit comme chambriste ou comme soliste. Il est également actif dans le domaine de la musique traditionnelle et vient de sortir un CD reprenant des mélodies traditionnelles ainsi que ses propres compositions.

Daniel Rubenstein - viola

 

 

An active concert artist, Daniel Rubenstein performed in Belgium, Holland, Luxemburg, Ireland, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Bulgaria, Turkey, Israel, Brazil, South Korea and Japan, appearing as soloist or in chamber music recitals in important Concert Halls such as the Granada’s Manuel De Falla Auditorium, the Philharmonic Society of Oviedo and the National Auditorium of Murcia (Spain), the National Concert Hall (Dublin), the Albert Long Hall (Istanbul), the Elisabeth Hall and the Singel (Antwerp), the Palais des Beaux-Arts (Brussels), the Tel-Aviv Museum and Haïfa Rapapurt Auditorium (Israel), the Minato Mirai Chamber Music Hall and Liris Concert Hall (Yokohama) among others.

 

 

 

Born in Brussels, First Prize winner of several National Competitions, he gave his first solo concert at the age of 15 with the National Orchestra of Belgium conducted by Mendi Rodan. Graduated with high Distinction from the Royal Music Conservatory of Brussels and the Indiana University (Bloomington - USA), Daniel Rubenstein, who is equally a violinist, has collaborated in chamber music ensembles together with internationally known artists in a repertoire of already more than 100 works. Violist of the Mahler Piano Quartet and the Guarneri String Trio, 1st violinist of the Ensemble Mendelssohn, he is also Concertmaster of the Waterloo Soloists. His CD recording includes works by Tchaïkovsky (Souvenir de Florence), Dvorak (1st piano Quintet), Mozart (Sinfonia Concertante) as well as works by works Schnittke, Stravinsky, Dallapiccola, Lutoslawski, Van Rossum and World Premiere Recordings of works by Michel Lysight and Don Freund.

 

Daniel Rubenstein is Viola Professor of the Royal Music Conservatory of Mons where he also teaches Chamber Music and Violin professor at the Petite Chapelle d’Argenteuil School of Music.

Diplômé avec Distinction du Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles et de l'Indiana University (Bloomington - USA), 1er lauréat de plusieurs concours nationaux, Daniel Rubenstein donna son 1er concert en soliste à l’âge de 15 ans avec l'Orchestre National de Belgique sous la direction de Mendi Rodan. En tant que chambriste, il collabore avec des artistes de réputations internationales dans un répertoire de plus de 100 oeuvres. Altiste du 'Mahler Piano Quartet', altiste du 'Trio à Cordes Guarneri', 1er violon de l’Ensemble Mendelssohn, il est également Concertmaster des Solistes de Waterloo.

 

Ses enregistrements CD comprennent des œuvres de Tchaïkovsky (Souvenir de Florence), Dvorak (le 1er quintette à clavier), Mozart (Symphonie Concertante) ainsi que des œuvres de Stravinsky, Lutoslawsky, Dallapiccola, Van Rossum, Schnittke ainsi qu’en Première Mondiale, des œuvres de Michel Lysight et Don Freund (à paraître en 2006).

 

Daniel Rubenstein est Professeur d’alto au Conservatoire Royal de Musique de Mons où il y enseigne la musique de chambre depuis 5 années, ainsi que Professeur de violon à la Petite Chapelle d’Argenteuil.

Xue-Wen Gao - cello

 

Born in Quingdao, China, Xue Wen Gao was Principal cellist of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Hong Kong and for several years of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of Flanders and was awarded the Alex De Vries Prize for Chamber Music (Belgium), an Honorary Diploma in the International “Maria Canals” Competition i(Barcelona) and won the First Prize in the International Competition of Bourg Madame (France).

 

Xue Wen Gao, who graduated with distinction of the National Conservatory of Shangai and the Royal Conservatories of Mons and Brussels, gave concerts as soloist with the Philharmonic of Chandong, the Wallonia Chamber Orchestra, the Symphony Orchestra of Flanders and the Philharmonic Orchestra of Flanders. He is regularly invited to give concerts in Belgium and abroad as a soloist and in chamber music ensembles.

 

Jury in some International Competition, Xue Wen Gao is also a virtuoso of the Er-Hu (Chinese violin), an instrument which he plays since his childhood and with which he also performs regularly in recitals.

Diplômé avec distinction du Conservatoire National de Shangaï ainsi que des Conservatoires Royaux de Mons et Bruxelles, Xue Wen Gao remporta le Prix Alex De Vries en Musique de Chambre, le Diplôme de Mérite du Concours International 'Maria Canals' à Barcelone ainsi que le 1er Prix du Concours International de Madame Bourg (France).

 

Sa carrière de chambriste l’a amené à se produire tant en Belgique qu'à l'étranger en compagnie de chambristes de renommées. Jury de concours internationaux, Xue-Wen Gao est également un virtuose du Er-Hu (violon chinois), instrument qu’il pratique depuis son enfance et avec dans lequel il se produit régulièrement en récital.
